The story behind the legend
Once upon a time...
The 430th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, assigned to the 474th Fighter-Bomber Group of the United States Air Force, was deployed during the Korean War, where it operated the Republic F-84 Thunderjet in ground-attack and close air support missions.
Operating from bases in Korea and Japan, the squadron carried out strikes against enemy supply lines, infrastructure, and troop concentrations, playing a key role in interdiction operations throughout the conflict.
In addition to its combat missions, the squadron was also responsible for escorting high-value aircraft operating in the theater. Units such as the 430th Fighter-Bomber Squadron provided protection for these sensitive flights, highlighting both the strategic importance of such missions and the versatility of the F-84 Thunderjet during the Korean War.
The entire Warbird Collection is inspired by the work of renowned aviation illustrator Romain Hugault and was developed in close collaboration with him. Every piece reflects his distinctive artistic vision and his deep passion for aviation history.
For Barnstormer, collaborating with Romain Hugault has been both a true privilege and a source of great pride. It is an honor to work alongside such a highly respected artist, whose talent and dedication perfectly align with our commitment to craftsmanship, authenticity, and storytelling.
This collaboration goes far beyond design—it represents a shared vision in which art and aviation heritage come together to create something truly unique and meaningful.
