"TBM Avenger" pennant

The VC-13 (Composite Squadron 13) operated the Grumman TBM Avenger as part of U.S. Navy escort carrier groups during World War II, contributing to anti-submarine warfare in the Atlantic. 

Equipped with radar and depth charges, TBM Avengers were used to detect, track, and attack German U-boats threatening Allied convoys. Operating from escort carriers, these aircraft conducted regular patrols and strike missions, often engaging submarines upon contact. In several documented engagements, TBM Avengers forced U-boats to surface or contributed directly to their destruction, playing a significant role in reducing the effectiveness of German submarine operations and securing vital transatlantic supply routes.

The entire Warbird collection is inspired by the work of illustrator Romain Hugault and was developed in closecollaboration with him. Each piece reflects his distinctive artistic vision and deep passion for aviation history.
