The story behind the legend
Once upon a time...
The 430th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, part of the U.S. Air Force’s 474th Fighter-Bomber Group, was deployed during the Korean War where it operated the Republic F-84 Thunderjet in ground-attack and close air support missions.
Flying from bases in Korea and Japan, the squadron carried out strikes against enemy supply lines, infrastructure, and troop concentrations, playing a key role in interdiction operations throughout the conflict.
In addition to combat missions, the squadron was also tasked with escort duties for high-value aircraft operating in the theater. Units such as the 430th Fighter-Bomber Squadron provided protection for sensitive flights, reflecting both the strategic importance of these missions and the versatility of the F-84 in the Korean War.
The entire Warbird collection is inspired by the work of illustrator Romain Hugault and was developed in closecollaboration with him. Each piece reflects his distinctive artistic vision and deep passion for aviation history.
For Barnstormer, working alongside Romain Hugault has been a true privilege and a source of great pride. It is an honor to partner with such a renowned artist, whose talent and dedication perfectly align with our commitment to craftsmanship and storytelling.
This collaboration goes beyond design, it represents a shared vision, where art and heritage come together to create something truly unique and meaningful.
